In a statement GLaWAC says, “The proposed mining operation will disturb and hurt the cultural connection of the Traditional Owners to the land, air and water”.
In an interview on ABC Gippsland, Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation CEO Roger Fenwick said, “the proposed mineral sands mine is not consistent with the cultural values of the land”.
