The Minister for Planning rejected the mine proposal. His assessment of the project was damning for Kalbar.
However Resources Victoria has ignored the Minister’s assessment and renewed the Fingerboards ‘Retention Licence’ in October 2024. Gippsland Critical Minerals (aka Kalbar/REZir) claim they are ‘rescoping’ the project and will be trying again for a mining licence.
Mine-Free Glenaladale and The Orange Army are taking up arms again. We will not stand by and let these cowboys destroy our community, our environment and our local economy.

We undertake a lot of research to provide valid and reliable information to keep people updated about the mine.
If that information is shown to be incorrect we will readily make the necessary corrections.
Thank you to everyone who has gotten us this far.
We had thought the journey was over and that we could get back to life.
Unfortunately some cosmetic changes to the company (Kalbar Operations has rebranded itself Gippsland Critical Minerals and Kalbar Ltd is now called REZir) and a massive amount of unbridled spin, means the fight is back on as the current Minister has ignored the IAC and Richard Wynne’s advice and renewed their retention licence.
We still need your help to stop this mine – the health of our environment and the future of our children are depending on us. Please help if you can by donating to our Keep Glenaladale Mine-Free fundraiser
