PANEL PRESENTATIONS Are you listening Minister Wynne and Minister Pulford?

OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS MINE-FREE WILL BE SHARING PRESENTATIONS COVERING A NUMBER OF ASPECTS OF CONCERNS AROUND THE PROPOSED FINGERBOARDS MINE. (Permission has been granted by the presenters)

A great concern about the way the IAC Panel Hearings were conducted was the Chair’s refusal to allow videos of the proceedings. This meant that only those able to take time off work, or those paid by Kalbar or the relevant departments or agencies were able to attend. The vast majority of the public were denied the opportunity to see and hear the concerns – not only of the presenters, but also of government agencies. They were also denied the opportunity to see how poorly Kalbar’s EES stood up to scrutiny.

We will be doing this by combining documents and audio or by refilming submitters doing their presentations.

The first of the presentations is by Ian Campbell who so eloquently brought to the Panel’s attention just what threat the mine poses to the local economy and people, Ian’s credentials in Economic Development are indisputable. The government would do well to listen to his warning of likely court cases that will result from the mine if it were to be approved. Click here to go to Ian’s presentation

The second presentation is by Russell Peel – a retired chemical engineer who raises serious concerns about the EES process and its unfairness on community, deficiencies in regulatory approaches and aspects of the mining proposal that would be considered criminal in some countries.
