Panel Hearing Week 8 – 29 June – 2 July : Documents 540 to 594

This week we heard from a number of farm, tourism and other businesses, locals, community members with expertise in a range of fields including pediatrics, chemical engineering, heavy metal contamination, environmental management and mine engineering. Without fail the message is the proposed mine is dangerous, environmentally and socially destructive and highly unlikely to ever be viable. Kalbar and the track record of companies associated with its employees give no confidence that they know what they’re talking about, let alone that their claims about the projects purported benefits are any more than desperate marketing.
